A familiar face will lead the Liberal Democrats' campaign in the next General Election.

Chris Coleman stood as the prospective parliamentary candidate in the last election in 2005 and significantly increased the party's share of the vote.

The 29-year-old, who was born and brought up in Gloucestershire, currently works as a solicitor for a large firm in Gloucestershire.

Sue Henchley, chairman of the Forest of Dean Liberal Democrats, said how delighted she was that local Lib Dem members have voted unanimously to select Chris again.

She said: "We know Chris well from the last General Election. He's passionate about the Forest and we know he'll work hard to represent the people here."

Chris is looking forward to campaigning in the Dean again.

He said: "I'm thrilled to have again been selected to be the Liberal Democrat candidate.

"We're a party on the up in this constituency and across the country.

"We're committed to standing up for local services from health to education."
