The Gloucestershire Echo have published a story about Chris Coleman taking part in the Cheltenham Circular Challenge. The article, which was published on Thursday 29th May 2008, encourages readers to sponsor Chris for the Challenge. It reads: Chris Coleman will put his best foot forward when he takes part in the Cheltenham Circular Challenge. The 29-year-old will join hundreds of other fundraisers on the annual 26-mile yomp around Cheltenham next month. Now in its 13th year, the event, organised by Cheltenham Cleeve Vale Rotary Club, see walkers complete part or all of the route to raise money for charity. Chris, who lives in Leckhampton and is the Lib Dem prospective parliamentary candidate for the Forest of Dean, is walking in aid of Cheltenham-based child bereavement charity Winston's Wish. He said: "I'd known a little about their work with bereaved children, but hearing more about the huge number of families they support and the massive demand on their services spurred me on to sign up for the full 26 miles. The work they do is inspirational." Mr Coleman, in his first year of competing in the challenge, has already raised £117 and hopes to have raised £500 by June 22. Louise Handy fundraiser from Winston's Wish said: "We are delighted Chris is the first person to let us know that he's doing it in aid of Winston's Wish." Starting and finishing at the racecourse, the Cheltenham Circular Challenge takes walkers on a circular route around the town. It has raised more than £250,000 for charities over the years.
