Haiti Earthquake Appeal - Help Needed

9.00.00am GMT Fri 15th Jan 2010

Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate for the Forest of Dean, Chris Coleman, has urged support for the victims of the earthquake in Haiti, which is feared to have caused a major humanitarian disaster.

"Where there has been such a major natural disaster taking place in one of the world's poorest countries - where possibly thousands of people have died and tens of thousands have been made homeless - it is important that the international community pulls together to prevent further loss of life," said Chris Coleman.

"Our thoughts must go out to the families of those who have been affected by this disaster," Chris continued, "and I would urge all those who can to lend their support to charities involved in the relief effort."
